One of the most common myths in the area of business innovation, is that of innovation culture. Many organizations try to begin their innovation initiative with superficial slogans, meetings and a proclamation that they are now hereby innovative. The problem is, this approach is actually backwards. Innovation culture is a derivative of organizations that are actually developing the life support systems and acting upon those life-support systems in a way that is driving true innovation. The organizations that have an innovation culture are organizations that actually encourage courage and make innovation a safe and rewarding activity in their job functions.
